HAWKINS, Texas – University of the Southwest volleyball won its sixth match in a row with a 25-10, 25-15, 25-11 thrashing of Jarvis Christian (4-24, 1-8 RRAC) Saturday afternoon in Red River Athletic Conference action.
"Sets one and three we dominated from the very start," USW head coach
Angela Franke said following the match." Set two we struggled early in the serve receive, but once we adjusted, we were fine. Again, we had a high hitting percentage and the entire match didn't let many balls get by us."
Senior
Ashley Preuss added a match-high 12 kills two go along with a pair of assists and digs. Fellow senior
Shelby Bartley finished with eight kills and a .400 hitting percentage.
Junior
Hannah Massey added five kills and hit .883 and notched one block. Sophomore
Torie Joiner contributed with six kills.

Miranda Tapia finished with 16 assists, while sophomore
Brenda Pargas added 15 assists. Senior
Karina Grajeda added 28 digs.
On Friday, the Mustangs (10-11, 5-4 RRAC) outlasted Texas College (0-14, 0-8 RRAC) 25-13, 25-14, 25-11.
Preuss recorded nine kills and junior
Corina Madrid helped with five kills.
Pargas added 18 assists and a pair of digs.
"The team played well collectively," added Franke. "Everyone contributed to the win. Our offense has picked up and when we hit over. 300 as a team we are hard to stop."
USW returns to Hobbs for a pair of RRAC games this week. On Thursday, the Mustangs host RRAC leader Our Lady of the Lake at 6 p.m. and welcome Huston-Tillotson on Saturday at 11 a.m.
