PLAINVIEW, Texas – The University of the Southwest volleyball struggled to gain traction and suffered a 25-12, 25-19, 25-15 setback at Wayland Baptist University Wednesday evening in nonconference action played at the Laney Center.
Lacey Clutts was the Lady Mustangs top scorer with five kills, while
Hannah Massey and
Ashley Preuss each chipped in three kills.
Jennifer Garcia and
Shelby Bartley contributed two kills.
Brenda Pargas added 15 assists and committed only one error to finish with a .833 percentage.
The Lady Mustangs were supposed to play in the St. Thomas Tournament this weekend in Houston, but due to the state of emergency, the tournament has been canceled.
USW's next official game is in two weeks when the Lady Mustangs host Sul Ross State on September 11.
