HOBBS, N.M. – University of the Southwest won its third match in a row with a dominating 25-10, 25-16, 25-14 sweep over Jarvis Christian Saturday afternoon in Red River Athletic Conference action at the Maddox Student Life Center.
"We are in the middle of a three- game winning streak and the team finished overall with a .400 hitting percentage (vs. Jarvis)," USW head coach
Angela Franke said following the match. "Our offense ran smooth tonight. It's really helping to build our momentum and our team is in high spirits."
The Mustangs (7-11, 2-4 RRAC) dominated in front of the net and used an effective offensive output to collar the Bulldogs.

Corina Madrid recorded a match-high 12 kills and hit an impressive .478.
Senior
Ashley Preuss was equally effective. The Grand Junction, Colorado product tallied 11 kills and hit a dominating .625.

Hannah Massey contributed with nine kills and the Las Cruces, New Mexico native hit .750.

Shelby Bartley added eight kills and notched two solo blocks to go along with a pair of assited blocks.

Miranda Tapia added 21 assists, while sophomore
Brenda Pargas chipped in with 17 assists and a pair of service aces.
As a team the Mustangs hit .407, while holding Jarvis (2-20, 0-6 RRAC) to a lowly .110.
The Mustangs return to action Saturday Oct. 7 for a 1 p.m. tilt versus Langston.
