ODESSA, Texas – University of the Southwest softball dropped a pair of non-conference games at University of Texas of the Permian Basin Tuesday afternoon. UTPB won game one 7-4 and game two 3-0.
In the series opener, the Falcons pushed across three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the contest out of reach.
Brianna Gonzalez batted 2-or-4 with three RBI and a run scored.
Adrianna Silva went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
As a team, the Mustangs combined for eight hits.
Madison Garcia was tagged with the loss. The senior tossed five innings and allowed seven hits, four runs and one walk.
In game two the Mustangs left seven runners on base.
Gabby Heckman pitched well for USW. She tossed five innings and scattered seven hits, allowed two runs and one walk and fanned one batter.
