HOBBS, N.M. – University of the Southwest hosts LSU – Alexandria for a three-game Red River Athletic Conference series, beginning Tuesday, March 27 with a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Baker Field.
 
The Mustangs enter with a 5-11 overall mark and a 2-4 record in conference play. LSUA is 11-7 overall and sits in first place in the conference with a 4-1 record.
 
USW is coming off a series win over Texas A&M – Texarkana. The Blue and Red won the series opener 8-6, TAMUT won game two 5-4 and the Mustangs seized game three by a score of 3-1.
 
Senior Brianna Gonzalez has been the offensive leader for the Mustangs. The El Paso, Texas product is batting a team-high .442 and has totaled seven stolen bases. Gonzalez is also slugging .750 and has totaled three triples, two home runs and a pair of doubles.
 
Senior Adrianna Silva has been a factor in the middle of the lineup. The San Angelo, Texas native is batting .347 with a team-high 12 RBI. Silva is also slugging .633 with four home runs and a pair of doubles.
 
In the circle, the Mustangs are led by senior Madison Garcia. The Midland, Texas product is 3-3 with a 4.59 earned run average. Garcia has totaled 39 2/3 total innings and struck out 11 batters.
