SAN ANTONIO, Texas – University of the Southwest softball opens the Red River Athletic Conference portion of its schedule Friday at Our Lady of the Lake. The teams are scheduled to play a 12 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and a single 11 a.m. contest on Saturday.
 
The Mustangs enter conference play with a 3-7 record, while OLLU sports an 8-3 overall mark and 5-0 record in conference play.
 
Through non-conference play senior Brianna Gonzalez has ranked as one of the best offensive players in the NAIA. Gonzalez ranks 32^nd in the country with a .532 batting average and 41^st in hits per game (1.7). The El Paso, Texas native also ranks fourth in triples (4), seventh in slugging (1.031) and eighth in total bases per game (3.3).
