SHREVEPORT, La. - University of the Southwest baseball concluded an away series against fellow conference member LSUS Friday afternoon. USW split the doubleheader losing the first game 1-0 and coming back to defeat the Pilots 4-2.
Pitching for USW in the game two victory was newcomer JJ Kruzel. The Little Elm, Texas native pitched a complete game, allowed six hits and two runs, and fanned eight batters.
Senior Adrian Rodriguez batted 1-for-4 with an added run, while fellow senior Chris Estrada went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI.
?Senior JC Velasco went 1-for-4 and scored a run.
On the bump for game one was junior Keven Whitaker. The El Paso, Texas native pitched six innings, sacrificing four hits and one run, and walked one batter, and struck out one.
Sophomore CJ Aviles went 1-for-3.
USW continues the conference campaign with a series April 27th and 28th at Texas A&M University-Texarkana in Texarkana, Texas.
