VICTORIA, Texas - University of the Southwest softball concluded conference series against Houston-Victoria Friday afternoon. USW fell 3-2 and 4-1.
On the bump for USW in game one was senior Madison Garcia. The Odessa, Texas native pitched six innings, allowed seven hits and three runs, walked one batter, and struck out one.
Senior Lynette Nikolao batted 2-for-2 and scored a run, while junior Gabrielle Heckmann went 2-for-4 with an added RBI.
Junior Chelsea Carrol went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
In the pitchers circle for game two was Heckmann. The Cannon Falls, Minnesota native pitched through four innings, allowed six hits and four runs.Â
Freshman MyKaya Olivas relieved Heckmann in the fifth inning while fanning one batter.
Senior Adrianna Silva batted 2-for-2 with an RBI, and junior Madylin Matthys went 2-for-3.
Senior Brianna Gonzalez went 1-for-2 and scored a run.
USW returns to action April 24th and 25th for a conference series against Texas College in Tyler, Texas.
