AUSTIN, Texas – Huston-Tillotson defeated University of the Southwest baseball 8-4 in a single nine-inning game Saturday afternoon in Red River Athletic Conference action.
 
HT jumped out to an 8-0 lead and USW was unable to overcome the early hole.
 
Junior Ben Tingen batted 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run. Sophomore CJ Aviles went 1-for-4 with an RBI and senior Ean Smith batted 1-for-5 with an RBI.
 
Senior Alex Goodman threw a complete and was tagged with the loss. The Gilbert, Arizona native allowed 10 hits, eight runs (four earned) and one walk and fanned five batters.
 
The Mustangs return home next weekend with a four-game series versus Our Lady of the Lake.
