The University of the Southwest Men's Track and Field team traveled to San Antonio, Texas over the weekend to participate in the RRAC Track and Field Championships. The other teams competing in the event included Huston-Tillotson, Jarvis Christian, Our Lady of the Lake, Paul Quinn, Texas College, Wiley, and Xavier. Xavier would take home the team championship on both the men's and women's sides. 
 
The event for the Mustangs was headlined by two standout performances from the Mustangs. Freshman Jose Jaramillo was the runner-up in the shot put that featured twelve different participants, posting a mark of 12.10 M. He also competed in the discus and the javelin. Another freshman, Emanuel Esparza, would take third in the hammer throw by posting a mark of 19.20 M. He also competed in the shot put, discus, and javelin. Freshman Nathaniel Cruz led the way for the Mustangs in the 100, 200, 400, and long jump. Freshman Ernesto Garza led the way for the Mustangs in the long jump and the triple jump. 
 
The event was the final one of the year for the young Mustangs but they finished with a couple of impressive performances.
