In a dominant second-half performance, Southwest secured a 2-0 victory over Jarvis Christian on October 26, 2024, in Hobbs, NM. The match was a crucial win for Southwest, improving their record to 4-8-2 overall and 2-8-1 in conference play.

After a scoreless first half, Southwest found their stride in the second half, breaking through at the 71st minute when Maya Sanchez slotted the ball into the back of the net. Rylee Thatcher provided the assist to put Southwest ahead 1-0. Just minutes later, Thatcher doubled the lead, scoring in the 75th minute off an assist from Arlette Montanez, sealing the 2-0 victory.

Southwest was efficient in attack, recording 13 shots, with 7 on goal. Their defense, anchored by goalkeeper Kristina Simpson, held Jarvis Christian at bay throughout the game. Simpson made 4 crucial saves, keeping a clean sheet despite 8 shots from the Jarvis Christian attack. Anita Nicole and Elizabeth Rico also played key roles in keeping the pressure off the Southwest defense.

Jarvis Christian, on the other hand, struggled to convert their chances. Valerie Morales and Nancy Espino led the team with shots on goal, but they couldn't beat Simpson, whose solid goalkeeping performance ensured Southwest's victory.
