Hobbs, NM- The lady mustang volleyball team opened their conference play against 6-6 Louisiana Christian University. 

The lady mustangs came out with more energy since it was their first interconference game unfortunately this energy was not enough to overcome Louisiana Christian and the girls lost in 3 sets (Set 1 17-25, Set 2 12-25, and Set 3 18-25).  

"We had a lack of execution today on the offensive side, defense was great Maya Morales (Libero) did everything she could back there tonight along with fellow DS Alyssa Barrera. Valeria Rodriguez led the team offensively. Overall, we just have to fine tune some aspects of the game and build more confidence and better our mental toughness." Said Head coach Cass Smith.  

The lady mustangs are back in action tomorrow September 14th at 12:00 PM MST against conference opponent Louisiana Christian.
