TYLER, Texas -- Southwest Women's Soccer delivered a commanding second-half performance to secure a 6-1 road win over Texas College on Friday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, the Lady Mustangs erupted for six goals in the final 45 minutes.
Aleah Ortiz opened the scoring in the 51st minute with an unassisted strike, setting the tone for a relentless Southwest attack. Just two minutes later,
Joanna Estrada doubled the lead off an assist from
Gizel Lopez.
Southwest continued to press, with
Rozlynn Ramsey adding a third goal in the 56th minute, assisted by Estrada. The momentum stayed in Southwest's favor as
Lillianna Monroy and
Jadyn Duran each found the back of the net in teh 74th and 76th minutes, respectively. Duran would later add her second goal of the match in the 83rd minute, both assisted by
Roxana Bustamante, who tallied two assists on the day.
Texas College managed to break through in the 80th minute with a goal, but it was too little, too late against a Southwest squad that outshot the Steers 16-4 and held a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Elena Moya anchored the defense with two saves, while the Southwest backline held Texas College to just one corner kick and one foul throughout the match.
With the win, Southwest closes out the season 3-13-1, while Texas College remains winless at 0-12.
