The Southwest Lady Mustangs showcased both their offensive firepower and resilience on Saturday as they split a doubleheader with the Huston-Tillotson Rams. Southwest roared back from a 7-run deficit to claim Game 1 in a thrilling 16–8 victory, before falling 12–3 in the nightcap.
Game 1: Lady Mustangs Explode for 16 Runs in Statement Win
Trailing 7–0 after a rocky top of the second inning, Southwest launched a historic comeback, scoring seven runs of their own in the bottom of the frame and adding nine more across the next three innings.
Senior L. Stouder led the charge, going 2-for-4 with 4 RBIs, including a bases-clearing double in the third. K. Raulston added 3 RBIs and a triple, while E. Martinez, E. Pinion, and pinch-hitter R. Burleson each contributed key hits in the onslaught. Burleson's fifth-inning solo home run sealed the Mustangs' dominance.
Starter A. Belen went the distance, scattering nine hits and striking out two while overcoming a tough second inning.

Game 2: Late Rally by Huston-Tillotson Sinks Southwest
Momentum didn't carry over into Game 2, as the Lady Mustangs were held to just two hits in a 12–3 loss. After falling behind 6–0 early, L. Stouder briefly gave Southwest life with a clutch 3-RBI double in the third inning, cutting the deficit to 6–3. But Huston-Tillotson erupted for six runs in the top of the seventh, pulling away late.
Pitchers R. Ashford, T. Parham, and A. Alverez shared the circle, but the Rams tallied 14 hits and took advantage of key defensive lapses to seal the victory.
