ALEXANDRIA, L.A. – The University of the Southwest men's soccer team kicks off Red River Athletic Conference play on Thursday afternoon, at LSU Alexandria, 3:30 p.m. (CT).
The Mustangs (1-2-1) head into the matchup aiming to secure their second win of the season, following a hard-fought draw against Oklahoma Panhandle State on September 5.
Southwest has yet to claim a victory over LSUA since the series began in 2014. The last time the Mustangs have been able to avoid defeat was during the shortened 2020 season, which ended in a draw.
In their most recent meeting in 2024, the Mustangs struck early, jumping out to a 2-0 lead before the Generals responded, tying the match before halftime 2-2. A second-half penalty kick ultimately sealed the win for the LSUA, continuing Southwest's winless streak in the series.
