Jacob Jarreau is entering his 4th season on the Mustang Coaching Staff. Jarreau joined the University of the Southwest coaching staff in the fall of 2017 and served as a Graduate Assistant. Jarreau took over as Hitting Coach for the 2018-2019 season along with Outfield Play and the Mustangs Academic Advisor.
Jarreau, a Palm Harbor, Fla. native, began his intercollegiate coaching career at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. as a student-manager. Jarreau aided in the outfield, batting practice and equipment management throughout his time in the program, where he was awarded his Bachelor of Business Administration. Jarreau graduated from USW with a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management and earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Jarreau spent the 2016 and 2017 summers as a hitting coach for the La Crosse Loggers of the Northwoods League in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The Loggers had over 30 players drafted from those two teams including 6 players in the first 5 rounds of the draft.
Jarreau spent the 2018 & 2019 summers as the Field Manager for the Hub City Hotshots of the Expedition League. Jarreau was responsible for recruiting the full 30-man roster, as well as running the offense and coaching 3rd base.
USW hired Jarreau as the Sports Information Director on November 1st, 2019. He is responsible for all Mustang social media, the athletic website, coordinating stats with each program, running the live stream service and overseeing Graduate Assistants and work study students.
