University of the Southwest Athletics

Tanner Martinez enters his first season with the University of the Southwest Baseball program. Martinez, a Round Rock, TX native, began his collegiate playing career as a Pitcher at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX, before transferring to play at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, OK. Martinez graduated from SCU in the Spring of 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. 

During the summers, Martinez coaches High School Travel Ball teams back home in Austin. Martinez started his coaching career with Texas Baseball Club in the summer of 2018, before Co-Founding Capital City Baseball Club in the Summer of 2019, where he is responsible for overseeing pitching instruction for the organization, as well as being the Head Coach for the 18 and under Showcase Team. When not coaching, Martinez is also a pitching instructor at DBAT in Cedar Park, TX.
