T.C. Nusser is entering his first season with the University of the Southwest, joining the USW staff as the new Associate Head Coach.
Nusser started his coaching career in 2010 at Clovis High School. He spent three years there as a teacher and part of the baseball staff. While at Clovis, Coach Nusser worked with outfielders and hitters. As an assistant in 2012, he helped build the new program at Centennial High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico. While at Centennial, Coach Nusser worked with hitters and infielders. He helped lead Centennial High School to their first state championship in 2016. Nusser then took over the program at Luna Community College in 2017. While at Luna CC, he helped place nine different players at the Division 1 level. During Coach Nusser’s five years at Luna, he helped over forty student-athletes to four-year institutions to continue their academics and baseball career. The baseball program maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA during his tenure.
Nusser comes from a family of coaches. His father is a retired New Mexico high school coach, while His brother and sister are currently coaches. His mother is also a retired educator from New Mexico.
T.C. Nusser, a New Mexico native, was born and raised in Portales, New Mexico. He graduated from Portales High School in 2004. He received his undergraduate degree from Eastern New Mexico University and will be working on his master’s degree in Sports Management at USW.
