Born on March 3, 2006, Samuel grew up in Big Spring, Texas, where he developed his passion for baseball. He graduated from Big Spring High School in 2024, earning recognition as the Defensive Player of the Year in his senior season. He was raised by his supportive parents, Michelle Brooks and Corey Wood, and shares a close bond with his siblings—Matthew, Luke, Joshua, Sarah, and Rebekah.
Samuel is currently pursuing a degree in Secondary Education, with aspirations of becoming a teacher and coach to inspire future generations of student-athletes. His love for sports extends beyond baseball, as he is an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and looks up to Mike Trout as his favorite athlete.
On game day, Samuel follows a simple yet effective pregame ritual—taking time to lock in and focus. One of his most cherished baseball moments was hitting a grand slam during his senior year, a highlight that showcased his clutch performance under pressure.
Off the field, he enjoys steak and has a hidden talent—he can solve a Rubik's cube.
