Tony Skiles enters his second season as the Head Coach for the Mustang Cross Country and Track & Field Programs. Tony was hired in May of 2020 after spending 3 years (2017-2020) as the Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Cottey College in Nevada, MO. During his time at Cottey College, Skiles' Cross Country program earned a 2nd Place finish at the A.I.I. Conference Championship and had 3 student-athletes qualify for the NAIA Cross Country Nationals.
Prior to his time at Cottey College, Skiles spent 1 year as the Head Men and Women's Cross Country Coach during the innaugural season at Sierra Nevada College. From 2013-2015, Skiles was the Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track Coach at Albright College. During his tenure at Albright, Skiles coached 1 NCAA D3 All-American, had 4 Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Champions, had 2 qualify for NCAA D3 Track Nationals and had 14 Cross Country Runners qualify for the NCAA D3 Regional Meet. Skiles got his college coaching start at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. Skiles was the Assistant Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach. During his time at UWF, Skiles had 2 NCAA D2 Cross Country National Team Qualifiers, 14 All-Gulf South Selections, 5 All-Southeast Region Selections and 5 All-Academic Team Selections.Â
Skiles is USATF Level 1 and USATF Level (Jumps) certified. Tony is married to his wife Kristen and they have 2 children: Peter (2) & Anna-Kat (1).Â
