Stephanee graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas in 2012. From there, she continued her basketball career at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. She played one season and made the decision to transfer to The University of the Southwest in 2013 to continue her basketball career and worked towards her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. In 2017, Stephanee graduated with her Bachelor’s degree and went on to pursue her Master’s in Education, Kinesiology and Exercise Science and graduated with her second degree in 2018. Stephanee was the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at the New Mexico Junior College from 2018-2020 where she helped lead the team to the NJCAA National Tournament in the season of 2018-2019, where they finished National Runner-Up, and was on the path for another appearance in 2019-2020. Carrillo is beyond excited to stand hand in hand with The University of the Southwest, Coach Devonte Brewer, and Coach Cat Garcia moving forward.
