Gabrielle Arsiaga enters the 2022-2023 year in her first season as head coach of the men’s and women’s cross country team. Arsiaga is an alumni of the University of the Southwest Cross Country and Track programs, running from 2015-2016. Arsiaga graduated from USW with a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2016. During her time at USW, she earned both athletic and academic honors. In 2016 she was named the Red River Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for setting both personal and school records in the 5k. Also in 2016, Arsiaga placed second at the RRAC conference meet, setting a new school record of 18:47 in the 5k, also qualifying her to run at Nationals.
During the 2019-2020 season, Arsiaga was a volunteer assistant coach for the cross country and track teams. During that season, the Mustangs placed first in the track and field RRAC conference tournament during the regular season and finished as runner-up in the RRAC conference tournament for cross country.
Arsiaga is a Hobbs native and graduated from Hobbs High School. In high school, Arsiaga was named Hobbs High’s top female runner of the year in cross country.
