HOBBS, N.M. – Our Lady of the Lake scored a pair of second-half goals to break a scoreless tie and defeated University of the Southwest men's soccer 2-0 in Red River Athletic Conference action Thursday afternoon at Bob Moran Soccer Field.
"We lacked a bit of urgency today," USW head coach
Robert Ssejjemba said following the match. "Have to give all the credit to OLLU, they controlled the ball in the first half and scored their goals when it mattered. In the second half, we controlled the ball but when you are coming from behind it becomes very difficult."
Freshman
Aram Sanchez finished with a team-high two shots.
Jack Laurie,
Ramiro Perez,
Allan Navarro,
Goitom Kidane and
Fernando Sanchez each added a shot.
Junior goalkeeper
Dominic Kutzke finished with four saves.
OLLU (6-3-1, 5-1-0 RRAC) outshot USW (5-4-2, 2-2-1, RRAC) 9-7.
The Mustangs return to action Saturday and play host to Huston-Tillotson at 3 p.m.
