HOBBS, N.M. – University of the Southwest volleyball won its fourth match in a row with a convincing 25-16, 25-13, 25-10 sweep over Langston Saturday afternoon in Red River Athletic Conference action played at the Maddox Student Life Center.
 
"I am very proud of how well we played collectively as a team," USW head coach 
Angela Franke said following the match. "Our offense is really starting to shine and is building confidence with every swing. 
Ashley Preuss had another amazing game with no errors and 14 kills. This is the third game in a row that she hit over .500."
 
Besides Preuss' 14-kill night, several Mustangs (8-11, 3-4 RRAC) stood out. Junior 
Hannah Massey added seven kills and finished with a .375 hitting percentage. The Las Cruces, New Mexico native also added five digs.
 
Senior 
Shelby Bartley finished with seven kills and a pair of blocks.
 
Junior 
Corina Madrid five kills and five digs, while senior 
Jennifer Garcia recorded four kills and a dig.
 
Sophomore 
Brenda Pargas added 17 assists and five digs.
 
As a team USW hit .309 while holding Langston (2-17, 2-5 RRAC) to a - .093 hitting percentage.
 
The Mustangs hit the road for a pair of conference games. USW plays at Texas College on Friday, October 13 and Jarvis Christian on Saturday, October 14. The Mustangs return home Thursday, October 19 against Our Lady of the Lake.
