Marcelious Green scored a game-high 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field, but USAO used a second-half run to defeat University of the Southwest 93-73 Friday evening in non-conference action at the Maddox Student Life Center.
The first half went back and forth and the Drovers (3-1) went into halftime with a 43-42 lead.
A Green jumper at 17:30 in the second half tied it at 50-50, however, over the next six minutes USAO went on a 18-9 run and USW was left playing catch-up for the remainder of the contest.

Jeffrey Long added 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor. Junior
Jim Coleman scored 11 points and handed out three assists.
Junior
Ron'Quis Lewis nearly missed the double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
As a team the Mustangs shot 49 percent (27-of-55) from the field, while USAO hit 54 percent (39-of-71) of its shots from the floor.
USW (1-4) takes a week off and returns to action Friday, November 17 against Western New Mexico. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Maddox Student Life Center.
