MESA, Ariz. – Senior
Ashley Preuss finished with a game-high 16 kills and a .429 hitting percentage, however, University of the Southwest fell in four sets at Benedictine-Mesa 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22 Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore
Brenda Pargas played well from the setter position and 23 assists and 11 digs. Junior
Miranda Tapia helped with 13 assists and eight digs.
Senior
Shelby Bartley collected 12 kills and two block assists. The Canyon, Texas product also hit .241.
Local product
Essence McGaha contributed with four kills.
Sophomore
Torie Joiner helped with three kills and collected four block assists.
As a team the Mustangs (3-6) hit .178, however in the third set which USW won, the squad finished with a .316 hitting percentage.
USW returns to action Aug. 30 at Wayland Baptist.
