Jack Laurie each scored a goal, however, Bacone College upended the University of the Southwest 3-2 in the season opener Thursday afternoon.
"We battled hard today but fell short," USW head coach
Robert Ssejjemba said. "We can definitely take some positives especially in the way we came from behind twice to tie the game."
Overall the match was evenly matched. The Mustangs totaled eight shots, with five reached goal. BC added seven shots, five of which reached the goal.
Maximilan Naranjo and
Michael Boone Jr also added shots for the Mustangs.
USW returns to the pitch September 6 at NCAA Division II Lubbock Christian University.
