HOBBS, N.M. – Senior
Leroy Cox scored a team-high 20 points on 7-for-15 shooting from the field, but No. 3 LSU Shreveport used a fast start and defeated University of the Southwest 90-76 in Red River Athletic Conference action Thursday evening at the Maddox Student Life Center.

Despite the setback, the Mustangs (8-13, 4-6 RRAC) shot the ball well. In the second half USW hit 60 percent (17-for-28) of its shots. For the game, the Blue and Red shot 51 percent (29-for-56) from the floor.

Ron'Quis Lewis added 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the floor. The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma native also went 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.

Marcelious Green helped out with 16 points and went 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. Senior

Emmanuel McNeil chipped in six points.
