HOBBS, N.M. – Three student-athletes scored in double figures, but No. 14 LSU Alexandria defeated University of the Southwest 98-71 Saturday afternoon in Red River Athletic Conference action at the Maddox Student Life Center.
As a team USW shot 44 percent (26-for-59) from the floor, while LSUA connected on 54 percent (38-for-70) of its shots – including 64 percent in the second half.
Seniors
Marcelious Green and
Jeffrey Long each finished with a team-high 15 points. Senior
Leroy Cox added 11 points on 5-for-13 shooting from the field. Senior
Jim Coleman helped out with eight points and handed out three assists.
Shannon James Jr. added 23 points to lead LSUA (17-5, 9-2 RRAC).
USW (8-14, 4-7 RRAC) returns to action next Thursday at Texas College.
