AUSTIN, Texas – The University of the Southwest women's basketball team dropped a tough 86-68 decision at Huston-Tillotson University Thursday evening in Red River Athletic Conference action.
Junior
Desiree Garza scored a game-high of 20 points and was 2-for-3 at the three-point line. Junior
Catarina Garcia scored a total of 12 points and chipped in two three pointers. Junior
Aaliyah Wheatfall collected 12 points and was 2-for-3 at the free throw line.
Sophomore
Mykal Thomas added 12 points and was 4-for-5 at the free throw line.
Junior Alaliyah Austin chipped in four points, while sophomore Naomie Solsberry also contributed four points and went 2-for-2 at the free throw line. Freshmen
Teanikia Rodgers and
Jasmine Stansell each scored two points.
For the game, the Lady Mustangs shot 50 percent (26-for-52) from the field, while Huston-Tillotson (3-7, 3-2 RRAC) shot 37 percent (29-for-79).
USW (1-11, 0-5 RRAC) returns to action January 6 on the road against conference member Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.
