Alpine, TX. - The Mustangs traveled down to Sul Ross with one thing in mind. To seek revenge on Sul Ross. That was the case on Saturday as the Mustangs took on Sul Ross in a rematch from the November 19th game. The Mustangs played great defense by only holding Sul Ross to 47 points on 25% shooting on the night. The Mustangs also out rebounded Sul Ross 49 to 23. The Mustangs shot 40% from the field for the night and had 14 assist.

The Mustangs had 3 girls in double figures. Mikaela Ochoa finished the night with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Aaliyah Wheatfall added on a nearly double double herself with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Harlei Haceesa added 12 points and 8 rebounds. Jaz'myn Jones was the leading scorer off the bench with 8 points in 17 minutes of action. Coach Cory's comments on the game were" I thought the ladies played great on both sides of the ball but really stepped up defensively. Our defense created a lot of offensive opportunities for us which was good to see. We were short handed tonight due to injuries so it was good to see other girls step up and take advantage of those minutes. Now it's time to focus on Texas College and start preparing for conference play. We have a tough stretch but I'm excited to see how the ladies will handle the challenge".

The Mustangs start conference play on Wednesday December 6th at Texas College at 5:30 pm CST and Saturday at Paul Quinn College at 2 pm CST.
