TYLER, Texas – Junior
Aaliyah Wheatfall scored a team-high 16 points, but Texas College defeated the University of the Southwest women's basketball team 83-71 Thursday evening in Red River Athletic Conference action.
As a team, USW (3-17, 2-10 RRAC)) shot 37 percent (25-for-66) from the field, including an efficient 42 percent (11-for-26) from the floor.
Junior
Catarina Garcia helped out with 12 points, while recording four steals. Junior
Aaliyah Austin scored 10 points on 3-for-5 shooting from the floor.
Freshman
Jasmine Stansell scored six points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds
Linet Juma scored 26 points to lead Texas College (4-19, 3-9 RRAC).
USW returns to the hardwood Saturday at St. Thomas – Houston.
