HAWKINS, Texas – Four student-athletes scored in double digits, but Jarvis Christian topped University of the Southwest men's basketball 109-88 Saturday evening in Red River Athletic Conference action.
Both teams shot the ball exceptionally well. USW (11-17, 7-10 RRAC) connected on 53 percent (34-for-64) of their shots, including an impressive 59 percent (19-for-32) in the first half. The Bulldogs converted 51 percent of their shots, including 53 percent (21-for-39) in the second half.
Senior
Leroy Cox scored a game-high 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the floor. Senior
Marcelious Green helped out with 17 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field. Senior
Jeffrey Long came off the bench and added 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the floor.
Junior
Ron'Quis Lewis scored seven points.
Jarvis (5-20, 2-14 RRAC) had six student-athletes finish in double figures.
USW, still alive for a berth om the RRAC tournament, travels to Langston and Paul Quinn next weekend.
