DALLAS, Texas – Senior
Leroy Cox scored a game-high 32 points on 12-for-17 shooting from the field and University of the Southwest men's basketball rolled past Paul Quinn 114-96 in the regular-season finale for the Mustangs.
USW (12-18, 7-11 RRAC) shot lights out and connected on 58 percent (40-for-68) of its attempts from the field. The Mustangs continued to showcase the hot hand in the second half and converted 60 percent (23-for-38) of their shot attempts.
Senior
Marcelious Green added 31 points on 11-for-14 shooting from the field. Green also went 8-for-8 at the free-throw line, recorded a team-high seven rebounds to go along with three assists and a pair of steals.
Sophomore
Emmanuel McNeil helped out with 11 points and grabbed six boards. Senior
Jim Coleman added 11 points and hauled in six rebounds.
USW is still in contention for the sixth and final spot in the 2017-18 RRAC men's basketball tournament. A final bracket will be announced Saturday evening after the conclusion of RRAC play.
