Catarina Garcia scored a team-high 14 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the field, but Paul Quinn defeated University of the Southwest women's basketball 91-58 Saturday evening in non-conference action.
As a team USW shot 36 percent (25-for-68) from the field, while Paul Quinn connected on 56 percent (37-for-65) of its shots, including a staggering 59 percent (19-for-32) in the opening half.
USW found a groove in the second half and shot 41 percent (15-for-36) from the floor.
Junior Lorenzia Nowlin came off the bench and scored 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field. Nowlin also went 4-for-6 at the charity stripe and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
