DALLAS, TX---The Lady Mustangs are playing their best volleyball of the season and it could not come at a better time. The Lady Mustangs defeated the Paul Quinn Tigers on Saturday afternoon in straight sets (25-14/25-16/25-20). The victory pushes USW's record to 5-4 in conference which is 4th place right behind OLLU. The Lady Mustangs have won 4 matches in a row and have 3 regular season matches remaining on their schedule before tournament play begins.
Head Coach
Katrina English is very pleased with the ladies right now and feels that they are getting better on a daily basis. "This was a great weekend for us. I feel like it is a start of great things to come" said English after Saturday's match.
Freshman
Martinique Larvingo led the team in kills on Saturday afternoon. Larvingo had 10 kills on 19 attempts and added 5 blocks.
Dylann Bylund led the team in assists with 22 in the match and added 3 kills and 4 digs.
The Lady Mustangs welcomed
Torie Joiner back to the court over the weekend. The senior has been battling injury for the beginning of the season and she looked like she never skipped a beat as she tallied 7 kills on 7 attempts and added a block assist as well.
The Lady Mustangs are back in action on Friday as they travel to Tyler, TX to take on the Texas College Steers starting at 5:00 PM MST.
