Grand Junction, CO- The University of the Southwest Women’s basketball team traveled to Colorado to compete in the Holiday Inn Airport Thanksgiving Classic. In game 1 of the classic they took on a tough Colorado Mesa University. Colorado Mesa proved to be a tough opponent as the Lady Mustangs fell 92-25.

The rim wasn’t on the Lady Mustangs side this game as they struggled to make shots shooting only 15.8% from the field. Isabel Rodriguez was the Lady Mustangs leading scorer with 8 points in the game.

“We played hard, just couldn’t make shots!”, said Head Coach, Devonte Brewer.

The Lady Mustangs finish up the classic today taking on Western Colorado University. This will be their final non-conference game of the season.
