GAME 1
The Lady Mustangs dropped another close game in game 1 by a score 7-5. Bethany College took an early 2-run lead in the top half of the 2nd on an inside the park homerun. The Lady Mustangs would get one back in the bottom half.

Larissa Madrid pitched a solid game holding the score to a 3-1 game until the 6th inning. With 2 outs in the top half of the 6th Bethany College strung together 4 hits to put them up 7-1 going into the bottom of the 6th. The Lady Mustangs could not find an answer and would lose 7-1.

Gabby Heckmann got the start on the mound and pitched a 1-hit, complete-game shutout. She had a no-hitter until it was broken up in the 7th inning.Â
The offense would need only one explosive inning to back up Heckmann's pitching. In the bottom half of the 4th the Lady Mustangs would explode for 4 runs on 4 hits and take advantage of 2 Bethany College errors. Heckmann helped herself out and lead off the inning with a single.
Cecilia Bustamante would the bunt her over, but would be safe at 1st on wild throw.
Madison Rosenthal put the Lady Mustangs in the lead with an RBI single. The next two hitters would get out before the top of the lineup generate a two-out rally.
Kenzie Savell would single to left to load the bases. Next,Â
Sarena Maynez would beat out a slow roller to the 3rd baseman scoring Bustamante. Matthys would then come up and bloop a 2-RBI double to right center field to put the Lady Mustangs up 4-0.Â
The bats went silent after that, but 4 runs was all Heckmann needed to secure the win.
