The University of the Southwest Women's Basketball Program sent their seniors out with back-to-back victories to finish out their careers. The Lady Mustangs hosted Wiley College on Saturday night for their season finale and senior night for their 6 seniors. USW defeated the Lady Wildcats 57-54 to bring their 2018-2019 season record to 8-17. The 8 victories for the Lady Mustangs are the most since the 2015-2016 season when they went 8-19.
Coach Hitchcock has been extremely happy with the ladies down the stretch and happy to win the last 2 games of the season. "The ladies played a great game tonight. We held a team who averages 65 points a game to 54. Our defense was spectacular. We rebounded, got stops and forced them to take tough shots. It's great seeing them finish the season off strong with back to back wins."
The Lady Mustangs had 2 players in double figures on the night, but used a collective team effort to pull off the W.
Naomi Solsberry scored 12 points to go along with 4 rebounds and freshman
Meredith Keasler scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to continue her strong finish to the season.
The ladies shot 35.8% (19-53) from the floor and held Wiley to 34.3% shoot from the field and 31.8% from the 3-pt line. The Lady Mustangs also utilized their many trips to the free throw line by shooting 9-16 from the line compared to Wiley only shooting 1-3 from the FT line.

They have helped lay the foundation for our future and because of them everyone understands what it means to be a Mustang. These ladies will be missed a lot by everyone in our program. I'm blessed I had the opportunity to coach them."
