SHREVEPORT, LA---The Lady Mustangs faced off with (RV) Talladege College on Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon in a pair of non-conference contests. The Talladega College Lady Tornadoes were 8-2 coming into the matchup and were winners of their last 3 games. Talladega took both games from USW, defeating the Lady Mustangs 90-42 on Wednesday evening and 78-63 on Thursday afternoon.
"It was the tale of two different games. The first game I believe we were overwhelmed by their size and athleticism. We were not ourselves and I think it was a huge learning lesson for us" said Head Coach
Devonte Brewer after Wednesday night's loss. "The second game we fought hard. We competed every play. We relied heavily on our younger players to give them an opportunity to gain some experience. Even though the stats don't show it, they did a lot of little tings that breed winning basketball. Every shot Talladega took was tough and contested. On offense our shots started falling and we really executed the game plan and gave ourselves an opportunity to win this game. It was great to see the growth in our team. Their ability to face and overcome adversity is getting stronger. We are going to continue to get better every single day."
