Taking a look at the weekend as a whole, Head Coach
Cass Smith said "Moving forward, it's important for us to understand that our win was not a fluke but a product of our hard work and dedication. Though we fell short against OLLU, we did not play with the same focus as we did the night before. Though the outcome wasn't what we had hoped we know now that we are capable and have to work on our consistency. We know we have the talent, we have to work on staying out of our comfort zone and maintaining our new normal. They made it happen, just have to believe."
They were several stand-out performers from the weekend. Junior
Valeria Trevino had 15 kills, 1 block, and a hitting percentage of .182 on the weekend. Senior
Autumn Lopez had 31 digs, 7 assists, and 1 ace this weekend. Freshman
Alissa Mancera had 28 assists, 22 digs, and 1 ace on the weekend. When asked about some key players from the weekend Coach Smith said "
Alina Gutierrez stepped up huge for us against HT with back to back to back digs gaining us momentum.
Fesili Masaniai was a leader on and off the court, she was a force on the court and her hustle kept morale up in key plays."
