KERRVILLE, TX---The Mustang Baseball program traveled to Kerrville, TX for a 4-game series with NCAA Division 3 Schreiner University. The Mustangs were swept in the series which brought their 2021 record to 6-10. 

GAME 1
SU 9---USW 2

AJ Cordova got the start on the mound for the Mustangs and lasted 4.1 innings, striking out 4 and allowing 3 earned runs. Isaac Baeza and Victor Maldonado recorded the final 5 outs of the game and were charged with 5 total earned runs. 

Seth Casias was the only Mustangs with multiple hits in the contest going 2-3 with a run scored. 

GAME 2
SU 4---USW 2

The Mustangs got a similar performance offensively in Game 2 as they only had one player, Gavy Perez-Torres who recorded more than 1 hit in the game. Cody Stone threw a complete-game allowing 4 earned runs and 6 hits across 6 innings of play. 

GAME 3
SU 10---USW 6

The Mustangs offense came out with a hot start taking a 6-4 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th, before the Mustangs would allow 6 runs. 


Brian Rodriguez, Gavy Perez-Torres, Bobby Galindo and Seth Casias each had 2 hits in the game  and Brian Rodriguez recorded 2 doubles and scored 2 runs. 

GAME 4
SU 5---USW 2

The Mustang offense fell flat again in Game 4 pushing across only 4 hits. Seth Casias drove in the only two runs from his first career college home run in the top of the 5th inning. 

Starting pitcher Seth Olguin went 5 innings allowing 7 hits and striking out 4. Drake Denning made his college debut throwing a scoreless sixth inning of relief.
