We found a way to secure a spot in the conference tournament and the seniors put together a good game to secure a win on the 2nd day. Some of these seniors have been here for four and five years and it was great to see them excel in front of a great crowd on the second day. It's a bittersweet moment thinking some of these guys played their last games in Hobbs and the fans, players, and coaches will truly miss them being out there. They have been a big part of the success here and have had to go through a lot. Some of these guys spent countless hours in a bus with me and seven weeks away from home during COVID. No one will truly understand the bond that I have with them. 
Game 1 
The Mustangs look to continue their recent success against LSU Alexandria. However, the Generals were not messing around as the Mustangs dropped game 1 18-3. There was some good in this game as Keanu Maldonado pinch hit and went 1-1. Hayden Woods went 1-2 with a walk as well. Angel Rios got the start. Mustangs used 6 different pitchers in this one. 
Game 2 
Looking to bounce back from the loss in game 1. The Mustangs did in fact do just that winning 9-2 on senior day. David Amaya went 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Kevin Rase went 2-2 with 2 RBIs. Isaac Baeza threw a complete game giving up 2 runs with 3 strikeouts. 
Game 3 
The Mustangs look to win the series however they could not do that. They lost 21-4 in the second game on senior day. Brian Ledezma went 3-4 at the plate. Carlos Jaquez Munoz went 2-3 with a RBI and a walk. Ian Swearingen got the start. Mustangs used 5 different pitchers in this one. The Mustangs however did clinch a spot in the Conference Tournament with their game 2 win. Seeding will be determined after the Mustangs take a trip to Austin to face Huston Titlloson on Friday and Saturday.
 
Now we must get ready for one last regular season weekend on the road. We can play with some ease and that should help as we try to secure a better seeding in the conference tournament in a couple of weeks. I know these guys will be ready to get back to work on Monday as we are excited to see how we can finish out the end of this season. We know all we have tl do is get hot at the right time and you never know what can happen.
