In a tightly contested match, North American and Southwest battled to a 2-2 draw on September 21, 2024, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Both teams demonstrated resilience, responding to each other's goals throughout the game. 

Southwest opened the scoring in the 39th minute when Ricardo Firmat capitalized on an opportunity, putting his team ahead with an unassisted goal. Despite strong efforts from North American, including several high shots and saves from Southwest goalkeeper Jeremy Rueda, the first half ended with Southwest leading 1-0. 

North American came out strong in the second half, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 57th minute, courtesy of Alejandro Perez's unassisted strike. However, Southwest quickly regained the lead in the 68th minute when Richard Wohl found the net with an assist from Yahir Chacon. 

The turning point came in the 79th minute when Wilman Landaverde equalized for North American, ensuring the match ended in a 2-2 stalemate. Both teams had chances to win late in the game, but Rueda's excellent goalkeeping kept Southwest in the match, while North American's Gino Burioni also made key saves. 

Despite the final score, the match was physical, with numerous fouls and yellow cards issued. The Mustangs now sit at 3-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference, continuing their strong season.
