HOBBS, N.M. -- The Southwest Lady Mustangs delivered a strong performance on Senior Day, defeating Jarvis Christian 2-0 in front of their home crowd on Saturday afternoon. The win marks Southwest's second of the season and the second at Bob Moran Soccer Field.
Southwest controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, outshooting Jarvis Christian 19-7 and placing 10 shots on frame. Senior
Joanna Estrada opened the scoring in the 19th minute, finishing a well-placed assist from
Lillianna Monroy to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the second half,
Michelle Perez added an insurance goal in the 84th minute with a powerful unassisted strike, capping off a dominant offensive showing. Perez led the team with three shots on goal and was instrumental in Southwest's midfield control.Â

Elena Moya recorded four saves in the first half to preserve the shutout, while
Genesis Davila and the defensive unit held firm in the second half to secure the clean sheet.Â
Southwest also led in corner kicks (4-1) and committed fewer fouls (5-1), showcasing discipline throughout the match.
With the win, Southwest improves to 2-13-1 overall and 2-7-1 in conference play, while Jarvis Christian drops to 5-11-1 (4-9-1).
The Lady Mustangs will close out their season on the road on October 31st against Texas College. The kickoff is scheduled for 11Â a.m. (MT).
