Hobbs, N.M. -- The University of the Southwest women's soccer team secured their first conference win of the season with a 1-0 shutout over Louisiana Christian on Saturday at Bob Moran Soccer Field.

Aleah Ortiz delivered the game-winner in the 25th minute, finishing a clean assist from
Jadyn Duran to give the Lady Mustangs an early lead they would not relinquish. Southwest controlled the tempo throughout the match, outshooting the Wildcats 18-7 and generating 10 shots on goal.

Elena Moya was a steady presence in the net, recording six saves.
The Mustangs (1-9-0) will return to action next week on the road to face North American on Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
