HOBBS, N.M. — The Lady Mustangs are headed to the postseason!
After a season packed with hard-fought wins, late-inning heroics, and steady leadership, the Lady Mustangs have officially clinched a spot in the conference tournament, proudly representing Hobbs and Southwest New Mexico.
Under the direction of head coach Chris Petroski, the team has shown resilience all year long. From tight road matchups to statement wins at home, the Lady Mustangs delivered when it mattered most — and now they've earned the right to compete for a championship.
Leading the charge offensively are Layla Stouder and Haylee Hernandez, two of the most reliable hitters in the lineup who sparked the offense with timely at-bats throughout the season. In the circle, Alexis Belen has been a difference-maker, consistently shutting down opposing lineups and keeping Southwest in every game.
"This team has been through a lot, and they've never stopped fighting," said Coach Chris Petroski. "They've earned their spot in the tournament, and I'm proud of how they've come together. We're excited for what's ahead."
The Lady Mustangs will open tournament play on May 1st at 12:00 PM CT in Pineville, Louisiana, ready to take the next step in their postseason journey.
