ALEXANDRIA, La. -- The University of the Southwest men's basketball fell on the road Thursday night at LSU Alexandria, dropping an 86–55 decision at The Fort. Despite a competitive start, the Mustangs were unable to keep pace with a hot‑shooting LSUA squad that finished the night above 52% from the field. Southwest moved to 4–13 overall and 1–10 in conference play.

The Mustangs hung tight early, trailing 16–10 before the Generals used a series of threes and second‑chance opportunities to break the game open. LSUA shot 54.8% in the first half and 46.2% from three, pushing their lead to 47–25 at the break. Southwest struggled to match the efficiency, shooting 33.3% in the opening period.

EJay Scroggins led Southwest with 11 points, adding five rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Grant Hickey followed with 14 points on a perfect 6‑for‑6 night at the free‑throw line.
