Born on March 20, 2006, Zane grew up in Grady, New Mexico, where he developed his love for baseball and a strong work ethic rooted in his family's farm and ranch life. He is the son of Larry and Alicia Rush and has three siblings, Chisum, Hays, and Presley, who have always supported him on and off the field.

Zane graduated from Grady High School in 2024, where he played a pivotal role in leading his team to its first state tournament in 17 years during his senior season—one of his proudest baseball memories. Now, as a freshman, he is majoring in Global Business Management with a minor in Management, aiming to complete his degree and eventually return home to help run the family farm and ranch.

A fierce competitor, Zane draws inspiration from legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan and is a dedicated fan of Alabama Football. His pregame ritual consists of listening to music to get in the zone before taking the field. Off the field, he enjoys cheeseburgers and has a unique hidden talent—he can ride a horse and rope, skills that reflect his deep connection to his ranching background.
