Aaliyah Wheatfall scored a team-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor, but Embry-Riddle University used a second-half surge to defeat University of the Southwest 99-63 Saturday evening at the Maddox Student Life Center.

Harlei Hacessa scored seven points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Catarina Garicia chipped in seven points and recorded a pair of steals.

Aaliyah Austin added five points and handed out five assists.
As a team the Mustangs converted 41 percent (22-of-53) from the field.
Embry-Riddle (1-0) shot 50 percent (34-of-67) from the field and was 8-of-12 from beyond the arc.
The Lady Mustangs (0-1) return to action Oct. 27 and 28 at the Northern New Mexico Tournament.
